The following reflection is attached to the back of the painting on laminated card stock.

As Summer Fades

Summer is slowly fading. The air has become less balmy and a coolness has arrived. Luckily the sun still shares its warmth negating the cooler air. The apple trees are rejoicing in abundant bounty this year.

Crimson apples jauntily hang from limbs creating arcs and sags within their wooden frame. Limbs reach for the blue above, happy to frolic in the warm sun. Flicks of light touch leaves and create glistening red globes.

The deer will be happy this winter when their efforts are rewarded with autumn’s gifts. As winter passes the cycle of life will continue again when spring arrives and the trees show off their beautiful pink blossoms.

It was a beautiful autumn day when I ventured out to paint this one. It is one of my favorite places to paint—so peaceful and beautifully wild. My husband had come along to keep me company —we enjoyed a nice cup of tea and a snack when I finished painting.
