Old Time Favorite

Geraniums have been a longtime favorite in our family. My dad overwinters them and has amassed a large collection. They always have such a festive appearance when grouped together.

My mother-in-law also collected geraniums. They sat happily on a window ledge in her country store, offering cheerful greetings to visitors.

Alas, I have joined in on the adoration for these showy blooms, scattering them throughout my gardens and doorsteps.

Geraniums always remind me of my dad as they are one of his favorite flowers. He has been overwintering them for years and has amassed quite a collection. Every year he groups a larger collection of varying colors in planters behind his house. They bring him much joy when he looks up from his garden and sees this brightly colored collection! I love how hardy they are and that they last well into out autumn season

This paintng was painted from life and composed by using two separate containers of geraniums The white begonias were dug up from my garden so I could include them in the composition.
