What a sensitive and eloquent entry … indeed, friendships have come to be one of my most treasured possessions (can one really ‘possess’ a friendship, it’s more a gift/blessing?). I realized this especially when I moved from a place I’d lived for 20 years. The precious fruit of friendship takes so long to grow and develop, much like your beautiful apple, on your friends tree. And your wisdom in knowing it is “acceptance” that has nourished that fruit reveals your depth and awareness. You inspire both spirit and artist in me. Many thanks.

Cheryl you always write the nicest comments!! Thanks so much–they make my heart smile. I so understand your point about a small “inner circle”. The sweetest of friendships grow gradually over time on a slow simmer.
I would love to paint in your beautiful backyard! So much gorgeous subject matter, but best of all I could meet you in person and we could have tea!! Wouldn’t that be fun…. I don’t think we would have any trouble thinking of things to talk about!

Wow! Your words are always so touching and your work so incredibly beautiful. What talent you have to be able to create such warmth in both. Your friend is a lucky person….and surely she will be delightfully surprised to receive such a lovely gift from a gracious and warm-hearted friend. I am not a social butterfly and keep a few very close friends in my “inner circle” (as my hubby who is the social butterfly likes to tell me). I can truly relate to your reflections on your painting. This was the perfect post for the very end of my day. Thank you!!
