Floral Dance
Overnight rain has created dampness in the air. The air is permeated with the smells of fresh foliage and earthiness. Spring has arrived and rejoices in the advent of new beginnings. A series of mature lilac bushes stretch out before me. They too have begun their display of abundance as clusters of cone shape flowers begin to burst to life. Sparkles of light flit and dance amongst the foliage. I have become intrigued with the layers of depth and color within these bushes. At first glance one does not notice their intricacies, until a quietness within prevails and one understands the depth of their presence. Over the years they have stood together melding with the seasons. They have understood the importance of embracing new beginnings each spring. Curiosity and fresh perspectives are so essential to life. Without these we would move aimlessly throughout our daily routines relinquishing our inner joy to mediocrity.
