A Stately Presence

It is a beautiful clear autumn evening. The hum of crickets resound over the space around me. Birds are taking flight before nightfall. While strong light pushes its way over the land against the side of the old farm house. It appears stately projecting a sense of importance as it glows in the golden light. It reminds me of past times where oil lamps glowed in windows and home cooking was an everyday staple. Natural light dictated many of the habits of the people of that era. There was a respect that existed between the people and the land; an attitude that we can admire and learn from today.

Beautiful picture and description! The days of oil lamps bring on the nostalgia for me as we had oil lamps my first 6 years of life at my grandfather’s farm
