Debbie what a beautiful post, but how frustrating to forget your paints. Seems all turned out okay in the end. You’re right on the perspective thingy, I would have been in tears and later doing belly laughs at how I over reacted. Especially if I came home with such magnificent work as you created on that particular day.

Nicely interpreted rendition from the still life shown. Especially sensitive in the translation of light source from right and the depth created in the background. The softness in the tones and textures is marvelous. Also, I like how you added energy to the “wall” in back with the infusion of faintly multi-colored swatches.

You can really tell that you enjoy painting plein air. It shines through in your writing and paintings. You are right, it is so easy to over do a piece of art. I find that I need to step back from it for a few minutes to take in what I’ve done before adding anything more. Your painting looks great – as always!
