Repairs

Years ago mending was a way of life. It occurred without a thought. Frugality was of the essence. Whatever could be reused or passed down to another generation was repaired. Whatever the item, it took on a life of its own and journeyed on before it was necessary to discard. This whole attitude brought about a responsibility, causing one to take a second look. The item was then mended and brought to a renewed state; similar, but not quite the same. Much like challenges we experience in life. Afterwards, reflection is helpful; but mending and moving onwards is necessary. Only then can we gain a greater appreciation of self and the depths of our strengths.
