Excellent answer! I suspect they had changed throughout the course of the day & I agree that painting them realistically from time of photo wouldn’t have worked in the end. Wish I could sometimes change China’s gray skies to blue when filming here! Digital technology is no cheap thing.

Great question Steven! You are so observant! Must be all that great filming you do.
The clouds actually did change from the time I took the photo. I didn’t particularly care for the clouds earlier in the day as I found them flat and lifeless. I liked the fluffier clouds –they felt lively and seemed to suit the mood of my painting. So I took artistic license and added a bit of what they had become as well as my own artistic interpretion! LOL
Thanks for your nice comments as well! I tend to lean towards clear, bright colors while outdoors as I find them positive and cheerful.

Another beautiful work. You know I love your color combination. But this time I have a question. The clouds in the photo look more distant and linear, but in your painting, they look fluffier and closer. Is that because the clouds changed throughout the day, or is it to match the style of the rest of the painting?
